BOB CROWE: When people think of Social Security, they usually just think of retirement benefits. But there are lots of kinds of Social Security.
Disability is one of them. It's a program for people who've worked and paid in Social Security tax who are too sick or injured to work. To get these benefits, you have to prove that you can't do any kind of job anywhere in the country that you might possibly have the experience or skills for. Some people are upset when they learn that you have to be unable to do any job to qualify for this and they're not allowed to consider if someone would hire you if you applied.
